ANEW Start is about settling in and finding your footing. When someone arrives at ANEW Place, the focus is on creating stability. Guests begin to learn how the house works, what’s expected, and how to live in shared space with others. Daily rhythms around meals, sleep, and shared responsibilities help bring steadiness back into day-to-day life.
This phase provides the foundation for what comes next by helping guests feel grounded, safe, and supported as they begin to look ahead.
Momentum & Growth
Support and skills for a new direction
ANEW Step is where the work deepens and becomes more focused. Case management is a core part of ANEW Place and is grounded in accountability and partnership. Guests meet regularly with their case manager to work on personalized goals, focusing on income, benefits, paying off debt, health care, and essential documentation.
As guests practice life skills, self-advocacy, and take ownership of the steps that move them forward, confidence grows, and healthy routines become more consistent.
Housing Readiness & Confidence
Supportive housing for lifelong change
ANEW Leaf is about turning progress into a clear path toward housing. In this phase, guests actively explore housing options and begin preparing for the transition to living on their own. They build practical skills related to renting and budgeting while gaining a clearer understanding of what it takes to maintain housing over time.
As guests look ahead, they also begin strengthening their sense of community—both within ANEW Place and beyond it.
Sustainability & Belonging
Aftercare for continued growth
ANEW Life reflects our ongoing commitment to long-term success. Program graduates remain connected through up to two years of aftercare, including regular check-ins, problem-solving around housing challenges, and continued encouragement as they settle into life in their own home.
This final phase recognizes that independence does not mean isolation, and that continued connection helps people remain housed and rooted in community.
