INDEPENDENCE PLACE | SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PROGRAM
89 NORTH STREET | SOBER SHELTER/GROUP HOME
The 89 North Street shelter operates as our sober living environment, so guests at this location must have at least 30 days of sobriety before the intake process occurs. After their arrival, guests enter the ANEW Step program, meaning that they attend case management meetings, work toward personal goals, and find steady sources of income.
In collaboration with Cathedral Square and the Burlington Housing Authority, our guests who have completed our ANEW Leaf supportive housing phase qualify to move into one of seven subsidized apartments at Independence Place. As part of their case management, these guests receive financial coaching, as well as attend rental classes through the Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity.
